What an enjoyable and successful day for our Group at the Regional Qualifiers last Wednesday – despite the dreary weather. Our riders had a great time and how proud we are of them. As Dressage first-timers, Jo and Badger put in a very creditable performance. Indeed Badger behaved impeccably throughout the day – his first outing with us.
In the Countryside Challenge, Neil gained second place to qualify for the RDA National Championships at Hartpury. A fantastic result for Neil. Matthew and Charlotte navigated the course with skill & determination, despite Marco’s best efforts to eat the apples!
Matthew won his show jumping class, riding independently round the course. He qualified for the Nationals too and was delighted to receive two rosettes and a trophy. With Jo, Charlotte & Neil gaining rosettes in the inaugural show jumping competition, the Group was well represented in this new discipline.
Our riders achievement and success has been helped by the effort and commitment of our volunteers, whether transporting ponies, cleaning tack, washing and grooming, or putting in the weeks of practise beforehand. Thank you to them and to all those who came along to support us.
Neil and Matthew will be hoping to repeat their performance at the RDA Nationals at Hartpury College, Gloucester on 13th July.
