18th September 2021 would be our Founder, Beryl Sainsbury’s 100th birthday, so her family and friends have decided that they want to celebrate this very special milestone by raising money for the cause that was dearest to her heart.
Beryl first became involved in RDA in 1968 and continued to share her love of riding and her knowledge of physiotherapy for over 32 years, making many great friends along the way. She founded the Stratford upon Avon Group in 1968 and was also physiotherapist to 70 regional groups. In 2004, she was absolutely delighted to be awarded an MBE in recognition of her commitment and love for RDA.
They are calling it ‘Beryl’s 100 for 100’, (click for fundraising page) and their idea is for anyone to do anything in 100’s from March until her birthday in September, however big or small (restrictions allowing of course!). It could be anything from walking, climbing mountains or wild swimming, to jumping in a hundred puddles and baking a hundred cakes! This is their way of celebrating what a wonderful person Beryl was and raising money for Stratford upon Avon RDA.
They have also set up a blog, beryl100for100.wordpress.com to keep everyone updated on 100 for 100’s progress. They will be posting regularly, so please do visit it to see who they all are and what challenges they are taking on.
