Whilst our ponies, volunteers & riders are recognised for their invaluable contribution, here’s a special mention for the parents, carers, PA’s & family members who accompany participants to sessions. Often the unsung heroes, they provide vital moral support & encouragement, as well as being an important intermediary. Knowing the riders well, their guidance & advice helps us enhance the rider experience. Despite not necessarily having horsey experience, many took on training & were instrumental in supporting riders back into the saddle during the pandemic, when restrictions prevented close-contact with non-family members. This was one of the few positive things to come out of that time! Some, including Alice (on the right in the photo), have continued to be actively engaged in sessions. Their relationship with the rider adding another positive dimension to the riding experience. In whatever capacity, we’re grateful for the valued contribution to the success of our RDA sessions.
